Library's Summer Reading Program(various)

Read: Toddler to 2nd Graders- 5 books (or have books read), 3rd to 6th Graders- 150 pages, 7th to 12th Graders- 250 pages & Adults- 5 books. Toddlers to 6th graders will receive a prize bag if they at least read 30 books or 900 pages; all children will get a bookmark/log to keep track of books they've read. There will be weekly drawings and a special drawing at the end of the program for both groups. For more information call the library at 517-543-8859.

Wellness Center Student Summer Membership(various)

High school and college students save more than $50 on a gym membership at HGB Hospital. Just show your school ID and driver license and membership is $139 for a facility that provides cardiovascular and strength training equipment and a spacious free-weight area to do your exercise routines as well as join free group exercising classes! FREE Boating Safety Classes(6:00- 8:00 p.m.)

Takes place at the Sheriff's Office Training Room on 1025 Independence Blvd in Charlotte! This course meets the educational standards of the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) and is for all boaters of at least 12 yrs of age anytime during the boating season. The purpose of the class is to make what is a commonly a family activity safer by teaching new boaters the rules of the water and the possible dangers of nature!
